What are collections?

Collections are a convenient way of collating various kinds of information from the Composition Library. Collections can contain methods, compositions, or a mixture of both.

With collections, you might:

  • Store your favourite methods and/or compositions, all in one place;
  • Record the methods you have rung (to quarters/peals/...) and the compositions used;
  • Create and share a series of methods and/or compositions which your band plans to ring;
  • Collate historical compositions which your society/tower/etc. has in its peal records.

Collections can be kept private, or shared with others publicly.

Example collections

Bell News and Ringing World
These multi-volume collections contain historical compositions and methods which were published in Bell News (1881–1915) and The Ringing World (1911–present).
5152 13–23-Spliced Surprise Major (Norman Smith)
This composition collection contains a series of build-up peals in increasing numbers of methods, for bands working towards Norman Smith's all-the-work composition of 23-Spliced Surprise Major.
The Project Pickled Egg "Core 7" Surprise Major
This collection contains the seven "core" methods from Simon Linford's Project Pickled Egg. The collection allows you to easily view and print out the blue lines of all the methods. It can also be used to populate the Methods tab with these methods when creating a composition.
